Semiotic Analysis
The connection between dog and owner is that the dog is a subject to its owner, and the owner can therefore do what it wants to the dog. The look of discomfort given by the dog shows the feeling that the dog is truly feeling. The dog wishes to be free from his oppressive owner's command, but cannot because of the societal norms of dog:owner.
